Paul and Tony Kanecki began the Mini-American Summer School program with 6 volunteers from the Cleveland area in 2004 in Koltsovo, Siberia/Russia with Marianna Malinovskaya, their Russian partner. He and Tony's legacy lives on with the program now in Miercuria Ciuc, Romania in the Carpathian Mountains. Over the years, the program has touched thousands of Russian school children while now continuing its mission with Romanian school children. Since 2004, over 150 volunteer Native English educators have participated in the program begun with Paul's, Tony's and Marianna's vision. A Lasting legacy to remember and be proud of. Since learning of Paul's passing, both our Russian friends and former volunteers have sent their "Thoughts and Prayers" to Ann and the Lorz family.
I will always remember how Paul always had something so nice to say to me while greeting me, whenever I came to his family's home. He will be missed.
