Linda Marie Horwath's Obituary
Linda Marie Horwath, age 75, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
She was born on October 4, 1950 to Charles Anthony and Angelina Marie (Bompiede) Denoto in Cleveland, OH. She married the love of her life, Russell “Rusty” Horwath, and spent 46 years together before his passing in 2017.
Linda’s passion for cooking and entertaining brought her so much joy as well as to those who loved eating her amazing food. Her other passion was being a Spanish teacher for more than 35 years. She began her career at Hillside and spent the majority of her time teaching at Medina Senior High School. The experiences, trips, students and lasting friends she made throughout her life here brought her so much joy and loving memories. Linda’s everlasting positivity, her warm smile and ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved are just a few of the wonderful qualities those who knew her loved about her.
Linda is survived by her daughters: Christine (Don Kopp) Horwath and Jessica (Jay) Emch; grandchildren: Caitlyn, Dillon and Emersyn; and sisters: Gloria Denoto and Joanne Denoto Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Horwath; and parents, Charles and Angelina Denoto.
Linda’s family will greet friends on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road from 3:00-7:00 PM. We will have a “final goodybye” at Jardine’s at 9:00 AM Saturday March 21st, and then procession to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 6667 Walling Road, North Royalton, for a funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Linda’s family invites everyone to join in a luncheon immediately after the mass in the lower level of the Church. A private ceremony will take place at a later date for Linda’s ashes to be placed in her final resting place alongside Rusty at All Saints Cemetery.
