John Rainone, 78, of Medina, Ohio and Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by love. Son of the late Roland and Mary, born and raised in Cleveland, John was a proud graduate of St. Ignatius a Read Obituary
John and I were classmates, pledge brothers, roommates but most of all friends. We attended St. Ignatius and then U of Detroit together, rooming for the 1st years, pledging Phi Kappa Theta together. The parties and singing bring back many memories. I was deeply saddened when I read about his death. Peace Brother!!!
John was a very special person to me and others that knew him. He treated all with respect and made you proud to know him. I have many memories and laughs of John from MTD Martin and CTP Streetsboro. I learned about business, people and how to be a better person from John. I am proud to call him my friend. Nancy, you and the children and grandchildren will be in my prayers. John, thank you for all the kind words and wisdom. I am honored to say I knew you and be called your friend.

I started working with John in 1976 at MTD at the Cleveland plant when he was controller. He personally trained each one on us in accounting. He was a joy to work with and to have as our leader. We all knew the John would be great with his ongoing leadership when he went to the Martin plant to run. We were all very pleased when John returned to the Corporate office to run the Purchasing group with his great knowledge and direction. I have wonderful memories of the 42 years at MTD that I shared with John as part of the Logistics team. John will certainly be missed. God bless his family. Sincerely Louise
My name is Louise Unterzuber from MTD Products. I started working with John in 1976 when he was the controller. He personally trained all of us accounting along with audit. He always had the best attitude and it was an honor to work with his direction. As the years went on he had asked if I was interested in moving to Martin, Tennessee to do accounting. I had to say no to the offer, instead I took care of my ailing father. When John came back to the Corporate office to run the Purchasing Department the same happy go lucky personality came with him. He was one of the best people to work for and with. I have so many great memories for the 42 years I spent at MTD sharing time with John. God bless his family.
