John "Johnny" D. Fuehrer's Obituary
It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of John “Johnny” Fuehrer, age 57, a beloved husband, father, brother, son, educator, mentor, and friend. John passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, faith, and unwavering dedication to helping others succeed.
For many years, John was a respected and admired business professor at Baldwin Wallace University, where he inspired countless students both inside and outside the classroom. More than an educator, he was a mentor who genuinely cared about the future of every student who entered his classroom. He challenged young people to pursue excellence, embrace integrity, and believe in their own potential.
John was the devoted husband of Deborah Casciato-Fuehrer, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, laughter, and treasured memories. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and a deep commitment to one another.
Above all else, John was a proud and loving father to Lilianna and Harry. He delighted in supporting his children as they pursued their passions and talents. Whether encouraging artistic and creative endeavors or cheering on rowing competitions he was always their biggest supporter. His children knew they could count on his wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love in every chapter of their lives.
A man of deep faith, John and his family were devoted members of St. Mary Parish in Berea. His faith was evident not only in worship but in the way he treated others—with humility, compassion, generosity, and respect. He sought to live his values daily and inspired those around him to do the same.
John was preceded in death by his beloved father, Harry (Late), and his brother, Greg (Late) Fuehrer. He is survived by his loving mother Nancy Fuehrer and brother, Brad Fuehrer, along with many extended family members, cherished friends, colleagues, former students, and neighbors whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Outside the classroom, John found joy in the things that connected people and preserved memories. He had a lifelong fascination with clocks and watches and was an avid golfer. He also cherished gatherings around the dinner table, where family traditions were celebrated and having a drink at Mike’s Bar & Grill.
Those who knew John will remember his warm smile, thoughtful counsel, quick sense of humor, and remarkable ability to make others feel seen, valued, and capable.
John's life was defined not by titles or accomplishments alone, but by the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, faith, and dedication to helping others flourish. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the people he loved and the many individuals he inspired.
Though he will be deeply missed, his example endures in the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds comfort in the memories they shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely throughout his life.
May John rest in God's eternal peace, and may his memory remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
