I had the pleasure of knowing John as my MBA professor and later as my Colleague in the School of Business. His lessons helped inspire me to be the compassionate and strategic business woman I am today. He helped form the MBA program into what it was, a created a truly memorable and unique experience for all of his students. I didn't have the opportunity to go to China with him, but he was the one who told me what to expect for the trip and prepared us for it. My MBA changed my life and I owe a lot of that to John. I gained even more respect for John when I joined him in the School of Business and was able to see him take what he taught me and apply it during our school meetings. He was everything a phenomenal professor should be, he cared for the students deeply and we all felt how much we mattered to him. I hope moving forward I can take this loss as a reminder to try to be more patient, wise, and kind. I respected John so much, and I hope I can be just a little more like him. He taught me so much, and I think there's still more I can learn from him as I honor his memories.
We will never forget Johnny’s smile and laugh. He was so kind, smart, funny and welcoming. We will never forget how Johnny made us feel. Listened to, loved, and he was interested in everything our family was doing. He cared so deeply about Deb, Lili, Harry and now, Ash. We also loved hearing his stories of teaching and the trips to China. We spent a lot of time together when our kids were young and shared those precious days of raising our families. We also loved their July 4 and Christmas parties. I have also known Johnny since high school where he was kind, fun, smart and with his friends all around. Gos bless Johnny. He was one-of-a-kind. Johnny was faithful and I know he has a healthy heavenly body now. To Deb, Lili, Harry, Nancy and Brad. We will be here for you and pray for you daily. John was such a valued mentor to me and my brothers as we reestablished Lambda Chi Alpha on campus. I felt so rewarded by his wisdom, levity, and guidance as we struggled with all the challenges our fraternity faced. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives, and I am deeply, personally thankful for his commitment to our brotherhood, which has had such a lasting impact on my life.
I truly enjoyed getting to know you and your family and am honored to be one of your nurses. Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. Your strength and kindness touched many lives and will not be forgotten.
