Francis J. Branic's Obituary
On June 25th, Francis J. Branic (88), a WWII Navy veteran, passed peacefully into eternal life at home surrounded by his loving family. Francis was 3rd of six children born to Andrew and Julia Branic of Altoona, PA. During the war, he served as a radio operator on the SS New York and later married his hometown sweetheart Mary Ann Fox. Their marriage has been a testimony of love and faith for sixty years. He was a resident of Strongsville and a faithful member of St. Joseph Church for fifty-three years. Together, Fran and Ann raised five children: Jeffrey Branic (Neomia), Julie Mehallo (Stephen), Gregory Branic (Debbie), Susan Bradshaw (Jim), and Mary Kaminski (Jim). Their family has grown to include sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a fifth is expected soon. In 1990, Fran retired from Ford where he worked as an electrician for thirty five years. He was a member of the IBEW and was highly respected for his quality work and ethics. Francis enjoyed reading, woodworking, bowling, raising roller canaries, and gardening but golf was his passion. Even more than golf, he loved spending time with his family whether it was teaching the proper golf swing or enjoying the many Branic family vacations. His wit and contagious smile will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, family and friends. VISITATION SUNDAY 1-5PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. Funeral Mass MONDAY 10AM at St. Joseph Church, Strongsville. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
