Esther was born in Havana, Cuba and attended the Ursuline School. She was a trained classical pianist who filled her home with beautiful music. In 1960, seeking asylum from Castro's Cuba, Esther and Frank sought refuge in America. They left Cuba with their two young daughters under the age of two. First, they arrived in Miami, Florida along with their extended family . Seeking employment, Catholic Social Services sponsored them, and they moved to Rochester, New York. In Rochester, they were blessed with three more daughters. They were very active in their church community, working at the parish Bingo weekly along with aiding many refugee families. Esther worked at Xerox for over 25 years starting as a keypunch operator working nights, and then working up to an administrative clerk in the account shareholder department. After retirement, Esther and Frank made many trips spending time with friends and families across the United States. After her beloved spouse, Frank, died in Rochester in 2018, she moved to Strongsville, Ohio to be in the same city as one of her daughters. Esther was a loving sister, caring aunt and generous grandmother. In Strongsville, she continued to play her favorite game, Bingo, at the Senior Center, where she made new friends. As a strong woman of faith, Esther was a devout Catholic who practiced her faith with rosaries, chaplets and daily masses.
