Eileen Marie Buzzelli (nee McCartney)
Age 64 Passed away peacefully in her sleep Dec 6, 2019.
Beloved wife of her high school sweetheart Allan Buzzelli, Mother of Chris, Phil, and Theresa. Cherished sister to Sharon Thompson, Bill McCartney (Sally), Cathy Rancourt , Michael McCartney(Connie), Tim McCartney(Lana), Sheila Stevens(Steve), Patrick J (PJ) McCartney. Kenneth Buzzelli (Mary Ann), Cary Buzzelli (Janice), Maribeth Iosue(John), Nancy Helton(Rick), Richard Buzzelli(Tara). Aunt and Great Aunt to 27 nieces, nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews. Eileen was Born Dec 10, 1954 the third of a family of eight children in Philadelphia PA. Eileen grew up in Cleveland Heights attended St Ann's Elementary School, Regina Girls High School. She attended Ohio University where she received a BA in Mechanical Engineering with honors. She later attended Case Western University where she received her received MBA. Eileen started her career with the Cleveland Illuminating Company which became First Energy Corporation. She worked there for 42 years until her retirement in 2018. She had a variety of management and leadership positions culminating in her role as Director of First Energy Technologies. She was active in the University of Akron Women in Engineering Organization, she served on the board of the UP Side of Downs in Northeast Ohio. She also volunteered her time, effort and resources to help the students of St. Martin De Porres high school. Eileen was a passionate advocate for her daughter Theresa and all children with Downs Syndrome. She was committed to the advancement of all people with disabilities, especially all the athletes who compete in the Special Olympics. Eileen loved her family's accomplishments. From Theresa's performances with the Improveneers, to cheering on Chris completing an Ironman, to enjoying Phill's success coaching the St. Ignatius Soccer team. Eileen worked passionately, gave tirelessly, and loved endlessly. She will forever be remembered and loved. VISITATIONS TUESDAY AT JARDINE FUNERAL HOME 15822 PEARL RD. STRONGSVILLE FROM 4-8PM.
