Carol M. Vasas (nee Fisher), 89, a cherished soul known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1937, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Carol's life was a testament to her love for her family, her country, and her faith.
Carol's early years in Butler were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family. She was the daughter of the late Inez and Robert Fisher and grew up alongside her brothers, the late Robert Fisher Jr. the late Raymond Fisher (Lucy; deceased), and the late Mark Fisher. Her childhood laid the foundation for a life of compassion and service, values she carried with her through the years.
A patriot at heart, Carol proudly served her country in the Navy, receiving an honorable discharge for her dedication and service. Her military experience was a source of great pride and shaped her strong sense of duty and community.
After her service, Carol's life was further enriched by the joy of motherhood. She was the beloved mother of Kathy Hamman (Matt), Kristine Caso (Frank), Nancy Vasas, and JoAnne Latonia (Rich). Her love and guidance were the cornerstones of her family, and her legacy lives on through her children.
Carol's nurturing spirit extended to her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Rachel, Frank Jr, Emily, Nicholas, and Zoie, and her great-grandchildren, Sam and Olive. Known for her sociable nature, Carol was a true social butterfly. Her friendships were many and deep, especially her bond with Judy Groman and family, who stood by her as dear friends. ALL SERVICES WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2026. A Memorial Gathering will be held on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2026 from 10AM-12PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 12PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. Interment will immediately follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 2:15PM.
