William C. Stacey's Obituary
William C. Stacey passed away on January 11, 2024, in Strongsville, Ohio.
He was born on February 8, 1931, to the late Frank and Virginia Blanche (nee Reid) in Spartanburg, SC.
Bill joined the United States Marine Corps in 1948 after graduating from Lincoln High School. He served during the Korean War. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Honorably Discharged in 1951.
He married Hilda Mello on April 11, 1953. They were married for 63 years before her passing on January 12, 2017.
Bill was a member of the Strongsville VFW Post #3345 for many years and was active in their Honor Guard. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the Strongsville VFW. Bill also loved travelling with his wife. Bill was also a member of R.O.J.Ct.14. He was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his children Stephen C. (Melissa) Stacey, and Sandra S. (John) Jiberno; sister Carolyn (Louis- deceased) Hronesz; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son Michael J. Stacey and brother Joseph (Beverly- surviving) Stacey.
VISITATION will be held on TUESDAY, January 16, from 3pm – 7pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on WEDNESDAY, January 17, at 11am also at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME. Interment will take place at Strongsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
