William Charles Hunger's Obituary
William Charles Hunger, age 84, passed away August 14, 2019. Beloved husband of Mary Lou (nee Blaettnar) for 60 years. Loving father of Sharon Zaleski (Michael). Cherished grandfather of Lauren and dear brother of Lois Alexander Caldwell and the uncle of five. He is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Elsie, and brother Walter. A graduate of Baldwin Wallace University, Western Reserve University (M.A.) and additional studies at Kent State University and University of Colorado. A 50-year career in education began in the Olmsted Falls Schools as a teacher, principal, and continued within the Strongsville City schools as Director of Education and special projects coordinator. He also served as an aerospace lecturer at NASA, and clinical supervisor of student teachers at Baldwin Wallace University. Music was a special part of his life. He served for 30 years as a baritone soloist at the Old Stone Church and the Rocky River United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Berea on Thursday, September 5th, 2019 at 11:00am, 170 Seminary St, Berea, OH 44017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Endowment fund or the Baldwin Wallace William C. and Mary Lou Hunger Conservatory of Music Scholarship Fund.
