William Robert Formoso Sr.'s Obituary
William R. Formoso Sr., 78, passed away on February 5, 2024.
He was born on April 21, 1945, to Frank Sr. And Mary Ann Formoso in Cleveland, Ohio.
William joined the United States Army out of high school. He married Nancy Corrigan on April 16, 1966. They were married for 50 years before her passing in 2016.
He was an avid sports fan, watching all Cleveland sports teams, and attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events. William owned a 1974 red Chevy Corvette, and often attended car shows. He worked for the Cleveland Cliffs steel company for many years and met up monthly with other retirees. Bill has been retired from the Steel Company for 14 years. William loved to take pictures and have pictures taken; he would often post them to his Facebook page.
William is survived by his companion of 5 years, Edie Niedzalkowski; children William Robert Jr. (Pamela), and Michael Martin (Lauren) Formoso; grandchildren Katie (Doug) Woodall, Josh Formoso, Bobbi, Eric, Nicholas, and Brynn Bailey; and siblings Elizabeth (James) Williams, and Mary Ann (Stephen) Jira; and half- siblings Linda (Rick) Morse and Bonnie Borso.
In addition to his parents and late wife, Nancy, he is preceded in death by his brothers Frank Jr. (Geraldine), and James Formoso.
VISITATION will be held on SUNDAY, February 11th from 12pm – 4pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on MONDAY, February 12th at 11am, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
