Wanda Irene Paulin's Obituary
Wanda Irene Paulin, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at the age of 100, in Strongsville, Ohio. Born on August 10, 1924, in Salem, Ohio, Wanda was the loving daughter of the late Irvin and Myrtle (nee Schiller) Morey. Her warm presence and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Wanda's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passion for music, and her unwavering work ethic. After graduating from high school and completing some college, she embarked on a career at Republic Steel as a Statistical Typist, a position she held with distinction for 42 years. Her commitment to her profession was paralleled only by her devotion to her family and her faith.
Wanda was blessed with a vibrant sister, Wilda Donegan, who survives her. She also leaves behind a legacy of love with her nephews Greg (Maxine) Miller and Douglas (Debbie) Miller; great-nephews, Jonathan (Lindsay) Miller and Scott (Kayla) Miller; great-nieces, Erin Miller and Kim (Matt) Klinger; as well as her adored great-great-nephews, Chandler, Brock, Weston, Maddox, and Lucas, and great-great-nieces, Pyper, Emerson, and Olive.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 2 years, Norman Otto Paulin, her sister, Leila Strop, and brothers-in-law, Hans Strop and Vernon Donegan. Wanda's family was her pride and joy, and she often expressed her love through her actions and care for them.
Wanda's zest for life was evident to all who encountered her. She had a song in her heart, with "Jesus Loves Me" being her favorite tune to burst into at any given moment. Her voice was a staple in the choir at West Park United Church of Christ, where she sang for many years.
Growing up on her family's farm in Petersburg, Ohio, Wanda developed a love for the outdoors. She took pleasure in driving the tractor and mowing the grass, finding peace and contentment in the simple tasks that connected her to the earth. Her love for the land was a testament to her roots and the values instilled in her from a young age.
Wanda had a special way with children, always finding time to engage with the younger generations in her family, whether through song, story, or simply by being present. Her love for reading was often shared with others as she enjoyed flipping through the pages of People Magazine, staying connected to the world around her.
The memory of Wanda Paulin will be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy of kindness, her joyful spirit, and her love for her family and faith will continue to inspire and guide those she has left behind.
