Timothy "Timm" Patrick Fijalkovich's Obituary
Timothy “Timm” Patrick Fijalkovich
Our dearest Timm left this world to live among the stars on June 22nd, 2026 after a long and courageous battle against brain cancer. Timm was born in Cleveland, OH, on March 6th, 1983. He grew up in various cities in the Midwest before settling in Strongsville with his parents and brother during his sophomore year of high school. It was there Timm found his true best friends, developing a friend group that he remained close with to the very end.
Timm was always an avid learner. After high school, he attended Baldwin Wallace University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics. He then went on to Michigan State University to earn a master's degree in economics. It was at this point that Timm decided to spread his wings even further, moving to France to teach English at a culinary school. Timm developed another close friend group here, and while they later spread across the globe, they always stayed in touch. After moving back from France, Timm attended Kent State University to earn a master’s degree in education.
Although he may not have wanted to admit it, Timm loved teaching. He enjoyed interacting with his students, getting them excited about math, and doing his best to help shape them into good humans. Timm taught in North Carolina, where he again developed long-lasting relationships with many of his coworkers that he stayed in touch with even after leaving the state. After moving back to Ohio, he began teaching at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School. He taught math there for 7 and a half years, developing another large group of friends and making a massive impact on his students. He settled into small-town life in Oberlin, enjoying walks or skate sessions on the path, using the college gym, hanging out at the local coffee shop, or getting food at nearby restaurants with his friends.
It was in Oberlin where he met his wife Emily, whom he married in 2022 in the home they built together. That home was filled with love, laughter, and all of the board games, video games, music, and movies Timm could possibly want. Timm’s favorite times were spent in his basement, playing board games or DnD, bopping around on his PC, lifting weights in his custom gym, or drinking countless cups of coffee.
Timm always loved animals. Growing up, there were always pets in his house, including his beloved dog Morgan, who was his greatest protector. While living in France, he even wrote a postcard to the cats and dog living with his parents. Later, he always loved stopping by his parents house to see Tika, Two, Boo, and even Ganie. Timm and Emily adopted two kittens of their own, Finn and Ellie, whom Timm loved more than any other being on this planet.
Timm is survived by his beloved wife Emily, his mother Kathie, his brother Philip, and his little babies Finn and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank.
All services will be Monday June 29th at Jardine Funeral Home 15822 Pearl Rd. Strongsville. A gathering from 3-6pm with a celebration of life immediately following at 6pm. All are welcome. No flowers please. Consider donating in Timm’s name to CATSS of Oberlin at https://www.catssoberlin.org/donate.
