Sylvia Pakish's Obituary
Sylvia Pakish (nee Highfield) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on July 8, 1934, in London, England, Sylvia's life was a rich tapestry of love, family, and service. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Pakish for 40 years, a loving mother to Katherine (Gary) Freeh and the late Greg Pakish, and the proud daughter of the late Harry and Constance Highfield. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Jessica (William) Morvay and Brooks Wendall, her great-grandchildren, Breannah and Jack, and her great-great-granddaughter, Magnolia.
Sylvia's professional journey as an accomplished interior designer spanned many years, during which she brought beauty and comfort into the lives of countless individuals through her exceptional talent and keen eye for design. Her work was more than a career; it was a manifestation of her passion for art and her dedication to enhancing the spaces where life's moments unfold.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sylvia was a pillar of her community, volunteering at the Strongsville Historical Society for over 50 years. Her commitment to preserving the past for future generations was unwavering, and her contributions to the society will be remembered as a testament to her love for history and community service.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Sylvia's nurturing presence was the cornerstone of her family. Her guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Her home was always a place of comfort and joy, where laughter filled the rooms and memories were made.
VISITATION THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2026 from 4-6PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2026 at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Rd, Strongsville. Interment will immediately follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio.
