Susan K. Sheffer. April 21, 1941 -September 16, 2022. Age 81.
Dearest sister of Carol Sheffer (deceased), Ann Mickey, Judy Dejanovich. Proud Aunt to Kim Mills, Chris Hiser, Ann Sergent, Matt Dejanovich, LeAnn Lang, Kristen Mayell, Kelly Galey, and a great aunt to eleven. Dear friend to many including Ann Joy and Gunta Douglas.
Susan devoted her life to helping youth lead happier and more productive lives. As a former teacher, high school counselor, executive director of the Euclid YMCA, and the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council Program Director and Board Member, she believed “education” was the simple most effective means to a better future for our children. Susan had a zest for life and was a loyal, supportive, and caring friend.
Her family is planning a memorial service at a later date in her hometown of Woodville, Ohio. Family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice that supports youth education, nature, or animal welfare. One of her favorite quotes was “Nature Heals.” Please take the time to enjoy the outdoors, and raise a glass of red wine, a vodka tonic, or tavern ham sandwich in Susan’s honor. She would want you to smile in her memory.
