Steven Z. Martin's Obituary
Steven Z. Martin, affectionately known as “Zoli”, age 80, went peacefully to be with his Lord on July 26, 2020. Born in Hungary and emigrated to the U.S. in 1947, leaves behind his loving and caring wife, Marlene (nee Rutti) of 59 years; loving father of Dawn (Craig) Evans and Dana Martin. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Austin and Andrea, and his brother’s children, Christopher and Susan and their families, and his brother-in-law Donald Rutti and sister’s-in-law Holly Rutti and Donna Rutti Scholl and their families, and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen (nee Zolczer) Martin and his brother Frank Martin. He was a faithful Catholic. He married Marlene in 1961. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and woodworker. Zoli enjoyed going to his hunting cabin at Salt Fork State Park, boating and feeding and naming the deer in his yard. He was on the swim team at Berea High School then joined the Army Reserve and National Guard. He was a Millwright for 35 years at Chevy. He was a hard worker, very talented and could fix anything. He had a gentle spirit, was kind, smart, wise, and loved his family very much. All services FRIDAY JULY 31, 2020. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30AM at ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, STRONGSVILLE. Social distancing and facemasks are required. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Strongsville Special Olympics, 9003 Prospect Rd., Strongsville OH 44149.
