Shirley Green's Obituary
Shirley Green, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, in Strongsville, Ohio. Born on August 31, 1944, in Parma, Ohio, to the late Edward and Helen Zolnowski, Shirley's life was a testament to love, family, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.
Shirley's journey through life was one of devotion and companionship, beautifully shared with her beloved husband, Richard Green, until his passing in 2014. Together, they celebrated 49 years of marriage, a union from which blossomed their loving daughter, Kimberly Green Costa. Shirley's legacy of love extends to her siblings, Carol – deceased (Cas) Gruszka and Ed (Sharon) Zolnowski, who, along with many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember her nurturing spirit.
A woman of quiet but profound passions, Shirley found solace and pleasure in the pages of a good book and the challenge of a well-crafted puzzle. These simple pastimes were the vessels through which she often sailed away on adventures of the mind, exploring worlds beyond her own while always remaining the steadfast anchor of her family.
VISITATION will be held on MONDAY, July 22nd from 6pm-7pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will begin at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Southwest Hospice Fund or a charity of your choosing.
