Sharon McMahon's Obituary
Sharon McMahon, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 74 in Strongsville, OH. Born on March 15, 1950, in Meridan, CT, Sharon lived a life marked by her unwavering spirit and the deep bonds she had with those around her.
Sharon's early years in Meridan were filled with the warmth of her parents, Arlene and Gordon Engfer, whose values of family and community she carried throughout her life. She had two wonderful daughters, Maureen (Brad) Baxendale and Shana (Bojan) Miocinovic, who were the center of Sharon's world.
A natural nurturer, Sharon extended her motherly love to her cherished grandchildren, Isidora, Veronika, Melanija, and Aleksandra, and her step grandchildren, Callan and Garysan. Her home was a hub of activity and laughter, especially during the holidays, which were her favorite time of the year. The family will fondly remember making Christmas cookies with her, a tradition that sweetened their festive celebrations.
Sharon's interests were as diverse as they were engaging. She had a passion for card games, with Pinochle being her favorite. Many evenings were spent in friendly competition, her bright and happy smile illuminating the room. She was an avid volleyball watcher, cheering with enthusiasm from the sidelines or her living room. Her love for board games was contagious, and she was always ready for a game night with family and friends.
As a coach of many sports for her daughters, Sharon demonstrated her strong character and never-give-up attitude. She was a mentor and role model, not only to her own children but to all the young lives she touched. Her ability to easily make friends spoke volumes about her personable nature. Everyone loved Sharon, and she loved them right back.
Her fondness for animals, especially cats, was evident to all who knew her. Sharon's big heart had room for every creature, great and small. She also found joy in visiting wineries, taking in the East Coast sandy shores, and savoring the simple pleasures of life.
Sharon's culinary skills were legendary among her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake, infusing every dish with love. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, storytelling, and the creation of memories that would last a lifetime.
