Sharon Gilchrist's Obituary
Sharon Gilchrist age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday April 5th. She was born on April 17, 1945 in Berea, Ohio to the late John and Grayce (nee Jaworske) Applegate. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Gilchrist for 48 years. Loving sister of Carol Juhasz (Jack) and John (Jack) Applegate (Paula deceased), cherished aunt of Wendi Evanoff, Kevin Applegate (Becky) and Brian Applegate. Great Aunt of Grace and Abigail Evanoff, Madelyn and Paige Applegate and Winter Belle Applegate. Dear cousin and friend of many.
She graduated from Berea High School Class of 1963. Sharon retired from the Cleveland Plain Dealer after a long career working in the Classified Department. She enjoyed traveling on fishing trips to Canada, to New England and Arizona and taking cruises to the Mediterranean. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 19, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Strongsville, on Saturday, April 27th at 11:30am. Private inurnment to take place at a later date. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church. Arrangements made by Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville.
