Robert "Bob" Swartz Jr.'s Obituary
Robert "Bob" Swartz Jr., age 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on July 24, 2025. Bob was born on December 10, 1947, to the late Robert Swartz Sr. and Elizabeth Swartz. He was the cherished husband of Cathy Swartz, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Bob's life was marked by his dedication to his family. He was a loving father to Justin M. Swartz, Tina Baker (Phil) and the late Michael A. Swartz, who will remember him as a guiding light and a source of endless encouragement. Bob's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Noelle Baker, Amber Roark, and Russell Baker, and his great-grandchildren, Cayden, Isabelle, and Jameson. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he embraced every moment with joy and pride.
His siblings, the late Alva Masek (Dave; deceased) and Dorothy Jacobson (Ron; deceased), held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Deb Will, and his nieces and nephews, Joe Masek (Laura), DJ Jacobson (Amy), Angela Jacobson, Theresa Reed (Lisa), and Tammy Haas (Dan), all of whom will miss his presence dearly.
Bob spent over 35 years on the road as a professional truck driver, a career that allowed him to meet people from all walks of life. His work ethic and dedication to his profession were unparalleled, and he was respected by his colleagues and peers. Upon retirement, he relished in the freedom to indulge in his many interests.
A man of many passions, Bob was known for his love of music, sports, and recreational activities. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, never wavering in his support for his home team. Bob also found great pleasure in golfing and bowling, often sharing these experiences with friends and family. His ability to turn any occasion into a fun one was one of his most endearing qualities.
Bob's outgoing nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a compassionate soul who loved unconditionally. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone was legendary; he truly could talk your ear off, but always left you feeling heard and valued.
To know Bob was to know a man who lived life to the fullest, with a heart open to all. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joyful moments that will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Robert "Bob" Swartz Jr. will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in the memories that will forever keep him alive in our hearts.
ALL SERVICES WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 2025. VISITATION will be held WEDNESDAY, July 30, 2025 from 3PM-7PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 7PM on Wednesday at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE for those who wish to attend and celebrate Bob’s life. Interment will be private.
