I was privileged to to have worked with Bob at National City for many years and then continued to enjoy his company at our annual luncheons for retirees. I particularly appreciated his dry wit and that devious little grin that he sported so frequently. Above all, he was exceptionally kind and trustworthy and not one to engage in office "politics" or pettiness. Bob was a truly memorable individual and will be missed by so many of us. May he rest in eternal peace!

Louise, Denise and Dominic,
We were very saddened to hear of the sudden loss of your dad/grandfather. We have been neighbors of the Kings for over 30 years and will miss Bob’s smile and wave, just as we miss Margaret’s. They were always very kind. One day many years ago we needed to inform them that our son had broken their sunroom window with a ball, but Bob and Margaret expressed no annoyance, only gratitude for us coming forth. He will definitely be missed, but never forgotten. We send our deepest condolences.

Louise and Denise, please accept my sincere and deepest condolences in the loss of your dad. Bob and your mother, Margaret, were very dear friends to me, and while I can't say lifelong, I can say that more than 50 years comes pretty close. It was always such a pleasure to be in their company. Bob and I enjoyed going to many Cleveland Indians games together over the years – he was a great baseball and Tribe fan --, and he and I attended the very first NFL Monday Night Football game ever, which was played in the old Cleveland stadium (and in case you’re wondering, the Browns won!). Bob was always a very cheerful guy and fun to be with, and I know that he touched all that he knew in that way. He will be dearly missed, but he is now together again with his one true love, Margaret. Goodbye, my friend, and I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you both, Louise and Denise, and to all the King family.

So sorry for your loss. Bob was a fantastic guy. I remember driving him home and I thought his fingerprints were imprinted in the dashboard from gripping it so hard. I laughed so hard. If the world had more Bob Kings, it would be a much nicer place. He will truly be missed. Linda and J Jones

Dear King family,

You have our deepest sympathy. I worked with Bob for many years at NCB. My desk for a short period of time was next to his. He was such a joy. He always had a smile on his face and always seemed so happy about life. His sense of humor was contagious. By the way he was a pretty smart guy also! I bowled against him and his famous team called the King Pins. I got to know his wife Margaret and they were a couple all couples should aspire to. So deeply in love and such wonderful companions. Plus we had a Youngstown State University connection. I briefly attended the monthly breakfast with Bob and other NCB retirees. I always wanted to sit next to him because it was always such easy and pleasant conversation plus his ever present laugh. Bob was truly one of the good guys that comes along in our lives. He will be missed. He left this world a better place!

Dan and I have known your parents for over 20 years. They were the sweetest people. They both had beautiful smiles every time we saw them. We were lucky to have had breakfast with Bob in November. He was such a wonderful man. We will miss him so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We are saddened by the news of Bob's passing. Shelley & I were regulars at the 4:30 mass on Saturday's @ St. Joe's, along w/Bob, Margaret, & Louise. After mass we'd gather and chat about the things going on in our lives. We'd hear about their grandson, they'd inquire about our family-just truly nice & kind people who were interested in others. I'd often see Bob serving at funeral masses during the week, giving of his time & talents.

The loss of Margaret a year and a half ago was such a loss, and now Bob's passing adds to our sadness. Their presence and spirit at St. Joe's will be missed. The King family will be in our family's prayers. They will be missed.

Bob was my mentor and friend when I started in IT in 1987 at National City Bank. His humor and kindness will be in my special memories forever. We were able to see each other a few times over the years at reunions with National City and he was just as kind and funny then. Forever in my heart Bob❤️
