In 1975 Bob was a District Manager for Pacific Finance Company and he hired me to manage one of his branches. It was a troubled branch and Bob and I worked together to get it back on solid footing. We had remarkable success and became good friends in the process, although there was some good-natured debate over which of us was really responsible for the turnaround.
In any case, the friendship endured throughout the decades and we, along with our wives, enjoyed many good times together. We played golf, went boating on Lake Erie, and generally enjoyed each other's company. Bob and Judie were regular attendees at family gatherings and celebrations that we had at our homes in Strongsville and Olmsted Falls. Bob played golf weekly with Chris's dad, George Dobrovic, and I for years at Little Met and Royal Crest. Those were really fun rounds of golf.
In short, Bob was a great friend to me and my family for many, many years and we will miss him. He was a caring and principled man who will not be forgotten.
Our condolences to all of his family members. You should all take pride in the man he was.
