Robert "Bob" Baxter Hill's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Baxter Hill, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 24th, 2023.
He was born on October 9th, 1933 to the late Marshall and Winona (nèe Fults) Hill in Beersheba Springs, Tennessee. He moved to Ohio in 1951 and resided in Parma Heights and later Strongsville.
Bob attended Sewanee: The University of the South and graduated from the University of Virginia studying finance. He had a long career in banking and retired as a Vice President for KeyBank.
He married Laura Spiroch in 1954. They were happily married for 40 years before she passed away in 1994. Two years later, he met Jean Golick, and they have been together for 27 years.
Bob was a devout Christian and very active in his church, Divinity Lutheran. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Quarry Lodge in Berea. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Columbia Hills Country Club, as well as a devoted fisherman.
He is survived by his fiancée Jean Golick; children Janis Hill, Col. Douglas (Linda) Hill, and Kevin (Renee) Golick; grandchildren Lisa (Mark) Pertuso, Michael Hill, Matthew (Madison) Hill, Mark Hill, John Hill, Laura Hill, and Lauren and Lindsey Golick; great grandchildren Margaret and Mary Pertuso; and siblings Kaye (+Delbert+) Denton, Phil (Edna) Hill, Tony (Barbara) Hill, Tom (Terry); sister-in-law Millie (+Paul+) Lamon, and many nieces and nephews.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on SATURDAY, February 4th, 2023 at 11:30am at Divinity Lutheran Church, 11877 Blossom Ave, Parma Heights, OH 44130.
