Rita Veneskey's Obituary
Rita Veneskey passed away on June 23, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by devotion to family, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to the people and community around her.
She was the wife of the late Michael, and together they shared a life built on love, loyalty, and enduring partnership. Rita was the daughter of Edward and Esther, and she carried the values of kindness, perseverance, and family devotion throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember her as a woman of grace and warmth, someone who offered steady support and a welcoming presence to all who entered her life.
Rita was a loving mother to Kathryn King, James Veneskey and his wife Julie, and Diane and her husband Jeff. She took great pride in her children and the lives they built, and she found joy in their accomplishments, their families, and the close bonds they shared. Her love for her children was constant and unconditional, and her guidance remained a source of comfort and strength throughout their lives.
She was also a cherished grandmother to five grandsons; Brandon King (Audrey), Michael Shilling (Marie), Jonathan King, Justin and Alexander Jandi and one great-grandson; Owen King, each of whom brought her great happiness. Rita treasured her role in their lives and delighted in the moments spent with them, whether through family gatherings, simple conversations, or the many memories created over the years. Her grandchildren and great-grandson will remember her affection, her encouragement, and the special way she made each of them feel valued and loved.
Her loving family was an important part of her life, and she remained connected to her siblings with affection and care. The ties she shared with her brothers and sisters were a meaningful part of her story, and her family will hold close the many memories of her presence among them.
For 20 years, Rita worked in Strongsville Schools, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and the respectful manner in which she carried out her work. Her years of service reflected her strong work ethic and her commitment to the school community. She made a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her, and her contributions were appreciated by colleagues and those she served.
Rita lived a life centered on family, service, and steadfast love. She faced life with dignity and a gentle spirit, and she leaves behind a legacy of care that will continue to be felt by those who knew her best. Her memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
A gathering will be held Sunday June 28th, 2026 at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 29th, 2026 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Road Strongsville. Interment will take place at Strongsville Cemetery. A meal following the gravesite ceremony will be held at Don's Pomeroy House in Strongsville, 13664 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136
