Richard Glenn Teagno's Obituary
Richard Glenn Teagno, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 82. Born on June 6, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joseph and Ruth Teagno.
After completing his education at Concordia Sr. College, he began a fulfilling career with Ohio Bell, where he devoted 25 years before retiring. His work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the many lives he touched throughout his career.
In 1969, Richard married the love of his life, Cheryl, and together they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and shared adventures. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Noelle and Joe (married to Laura), who brought immense joy to Richard's life. As a family, they created countless memories in South Euclid, Ohio, where they raised their children with the same values of hard work, compassion, and integrity that Richard himself embodied.
Richard's joy multiplied with the arrival of his three adored grandchildren, Sydney Mullen, Gabe Teagno, and Liam Teagno. He took great pride in their achievements and was a constant source of wisdom and encouragement.
Aside from his family, Richard had a deep affection for his canine companions. As a loyal dog dad, he shared his home and heart with Misty, Buster, Precious, Lilly, and Hercules, each of whom brought additional warmth and joy to his life.
In 2017, Richard and Cherie relocated to Strongsville, Ohio, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. It was there that he indulged in his passion for food, with a particular fondness for burgers and pizza. Richard loved to travel across the world and indulge in the different food options in those places as well. His love for music was also evident as he enjoyed attending performances by the Strongsville Band, reveling in the harmonies and community spirit.
Richard's faith played a significant role in his life. They attended Grace Lutheran Church in Cleveland Heights before moving to Strongsville. For seven years, he and Cherie were devoted members of the United Church of Christ, where they found spiritual solace and a sense of belonging.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cherie Teagno; his daughter, Noelle Teagno; his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Laura Teagno; his cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Gabe, and Liam; and his beloved dogs. Each of these relationships was a testament to the depth of his love and the breadth of his kindness.
There will be no services at this time. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cleveland APL, The Strongsville Band, and or the United Church of Christ Music Department.
