Richard G. Reusch's Obituary
Richard G. Reusch, 85 of Strongsville, OH passed away March 1, 2020. Beloved wife of 59 years to Elaine C. Reusch. Loving father of Cheryl Ann Greenman (Joel), of Chicago, IL and Susan Reusch (Tom) of Coldwater, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mary Ann (Youngbauer) Reusch, brother Gervase, and sister Donna.
He graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1952 and Gannon University in 1956 in Erie, PA.
He joined the Marine Corps Active Reserves as an Officer Trainee, earning his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. After completing his active duty service in 1959, he entered John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH, graduating in 1964 with a Masters Degree in Education.
He then began his teaching career at St. Joseph’s High School where he was also an assistant football coach. In 1965 he joined the Parma City School System as a school guidance counselor, retiring in 1997.
He then began working for the US MEPS as an ASVAB Test Administrator. For 17 years he also enjoyed another retirement job working as a security officer for the Cleveland Indians. He retired as a Major from the Marine Corps and was an active Member and Officer of the Greater Cleveland Military Officers’ Association of America (MOAA).
Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home 15822 Pearl Road Strongsville, OH 44136 Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice. Interment at Rittman Cemetery, private.
