Richard J. Hilko's Obituary
Richard J. Hilko, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023.
He was born on July 4th, 1943 to the late John and Mary (nee Csinesar) Hilko in Cleveland, Ohio. Dear brother of the late Thomas Hilko.
Richard graduated from John Adams High School in 1962. Following his school years, he was employed by 3M before proudly serving our country in the Army during Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Skyscrapers Club of Cleveland. This is where he met his wife, Patricia (Tomecko), in 1969. They have been married for 52 years.
Richard always had a dream to become a business owner. He opened R.J’s Beverage on Puritas Avenue and operated it for 30 years.
He was a car enthusiast, being a part of the Oldsmobile Club of America, and The National Antique Oldsmobile Club. Richard pursued his love and passion for cars up to the day of his passing. He is also a proud member of The VFW 3345.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, Richard is survived by his brothers wife Donna; nieces and nephews Mary Ann (Don), Tony (Tammy), Loretta (Dean), Jackie, Lisa (John), Stacey, Janel, and Deanna; and many great and great great nieces and nephews.
VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, March 29th from 10am – 12pm with a FUNERAL SERVICE beginning at 12pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. Interment will be taking place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
The family requests no flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
