Rex T. Fife's Obituary
Rex T. Fife, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Medina, Ohio, at the age of 61. Born on March 15, 1964, in Norwalk, Ohio, Rex was a man of honor and integrity, whose life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
Rex was the beloved husband of 28 years to Tracy Fife (nee Briant), and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a loving father who took great pride in his children, Revina Martinez (Philip) and Almer Fife (Kelvey). His role as a grandfather to Oliver Fife, Adalyn and Maddox Martinez, Ottis, and Sage Fife, was one he cherished deeply, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and wisdom that will continue to guide them.
The son of the late Vaughn and Shirley Fife, and the late Al and Mary Abramoska, Rex was a caring brother to Mark Fife (Lynne), Angela Fife, Linda D'emico, and Amy Martin. His familial bonds extended to his role as a fun-loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Rex's commitment to service was evident through his time as a U.S. Navy Veteran. His experiences in the Navy instilled in him a sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. Rex's passion for helping fellow veterans was exemplified in his tenure as the past District 7 Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in 2015-2016. His dedication to the VFW was further demonstrated as a Legacy Member at VFW Post 5137 in Medina, Ohio, where he was a respected and influential figure.
An avid outdoorsman, Rex found solace and joy in camping and embracing the beauty of nature. His hands were skilled in the art of woodworking, a hobby that allowed him to create and share pieces of his spirit. Rex's love for the thrill of Nascar races was matched only by his enjoyment of spending time with his friends at the VFW, where he was a familiar and welcoming presence.
Rex's influence extended beyond his immediate circle as he took pleasure in selecting restaurants for the VFW Auxiliary during National Conventions, always ensuring that his comrades had a memorable experience.
As we bid farewell to Rex T. Fife, we remember a man whose life was a testament to the values of loyalty, family, and service. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of all who knew him. Rex's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his generous soul. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will endure through the lives of his family and the many lives he impacted.
