Rebecca "Becky" Ann Johnston's Obituary
Rebecca "Becky" Ann Johnston, born on May 27, 1955 and passed away on July 6, 2026, was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose life was marked by devotion, grace, and quiet strength.
Becky was the devoted wife of Keith and the loving mother of JD Johnston (Tarah Briggs). She was the daughter of John Foryt and Elizabeth Foryt, and the sister of John Foryt (Mary Beth Foryt). Her family was the center of her life, and she gave generously of her time, her care, and her unwavering support to those she loved. She was known by all who knew her as Becky, a name that reflected the warmth and familiarity she brought into every relationship.
Born in 1955, Becky grew up with a spirited and caring nature that would remain with her throughout her life. In her younger years, she was a high school cheerleader, and that early chapter reflected the energy, enthusiasm, and positivity that became hallmarks of her character. She carried that same uplifting spirit into adulthood, where she met life's joys and challenges with courage and determination.
Becky enjoyed a ten-year professional career before choosing to devote herself fully to her family. She embraced motherhood with deep commitment and became a dedicated mother whose love and guidance shaped the lives of her child and many of his friends. She had a steadfast presence for her nieces and nephews Erica Johnston Earl (George), Amy Ellenbecker (Thom), Sam Johnston (Jess), George Retterer (Taylor), Maggie Yochheim (Nick), John Foryt (Ally), and Paul Foryt (Meagan). Her presence was steady and reassuring, and her home was a place of comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love. She took great pride in her family's accomplishments and found her greatest happiness in being present for the people she cherished most.
Faith was also an important part of Becky's life. She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary's in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Strongsville, Ohio. Her faith was not only a source of strength for herself, but also a reflection of the compassion and humility with which she lived each day. She found meaning in worship, fellowship, and service, and her devotion was evident to all who knew her.
Becky will be remembered for her kind heart and her ability to make others feel valued and loved. She had a gentle way of offering encouragement and a calm presence that brought comfort to those around her. Her life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, and perseverance, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly and remember her with affection and gratitude.
