Peter J. Mahovlich's Obituary
Peter J. Mahovlich, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Peter lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and deep love for his family and community.
Peter was the beloved husband of Allie Mahovlich for 61 wonderful years. Together they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories. He was a proud father to James Michael Mahovlich, who preceded him in death, and Elizabeth Ann Mahovlich.
He was the cherished brother of Paul Mahovlich (Nancy), Ann Marie Campanella (the late James), and Frank Mahovlich (Ron Reel). He was an uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Peter also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, Grace Kelly and Nicholas James, along with his adored great-grandchildren, Kattleya and Elysanij, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Peter proudly served his country as a Military Police officer in the United States Marine Corps before dedicating his career to public service as a Cleveland Police Officer in the 6th District. He was respected for his strength, integrity, and commitment to protecting others.
Outside of his service, Peter enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved reading the newspaper each day, following his beloved Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, and spending time with the people he loved most including his cat Blaze who will mis him dearly.
Peter will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to family, and the kindness he showed to everyone who knew him. His legacy of service, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
