Paul E. Hirt's Obituary
Paul E. Hirt passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023. Son of the late Arthur and Mary K. Hirt. He graduated from Strongsville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ohio State University. He was an officer in the Army and served in Germany. In Strongsville, he was an active member in the Lion’s Club and the Jaycees. He worked many years with his father at Hirt’s Wholesale Greenhouse.
Paul loved to fish and to play golf. He was a lifelong member of Strongsville United Church of Christ and was active in the community.
Paul is survived by his brother, Thomas Hirt (Becky) of Seattle, WA and his sister, Ruth Held (Peter) of Columbia, SC. He has 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 6 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews.
We’d like to thank the nurses and staff at Shurmer Place/Altenheim for their compassionate care. We are grateful to Dianne Maringer and Clare Hirt for their kind and caring help and friendship. Jardine Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
A graveside service will take place Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1PM at Strongsville Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
