Patricia dedicated 27 years of her life to nurturing young minds as a teacher in Brunswick City Schools. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students left an indelible mark on the community. A proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, her love for learning was only matched by her desire to impart knowledge and inspire curiosity in others.
At home, Patricia's heart belonged to her family. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to James G. Bartholomew, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She was the guiding light for her children, Courtney (Bobby Cumming), Josh, and Megan (Joel Freese), instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and integrity.
Patricia's role as a sister was equally cherished, sharing a bond with her brother Joseph Gavlak and his wife Bonnie. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild, Christian, Emma, and Finn Bartholomew, and Baylor, Jude, and August Freese. She reveled in her role as a grandmother, offering her wisdom, her stories, and her unconditional love.
Beyond her family and career, Patricia was an active member of her community. She contributed her time and talents to the women's club in Pennsylvania, where she formed lasting friendships and made significant contributions to various initiatives. An avid reader, she could often be found with an Agatha Christie novel in hand, her mind alight with the intrigue of a good mystery.
Patricia's talents extended to the garden and the kitchen, where she was known as an expert gardener and cook. Her culinary creations were the highlight of many family gatherings, and her garden was a testament to her patience and care. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and solace in the rhythm of the waves. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Patricia's enthusiasm for football was infectious, bringing her family together for games and celebrations.
Her love for the holidays was evident in her meticulous decorations, which transformed her home into a festive wonderland each season.
