To The Family,
Orren Haxton did not know me, but I knew him. I was just a little guy when he was a senior fullback at Strongsville High. He was the quiet, strong, almost brooding handsome fellow who looked strong enough to carry an ox.
He carried his books under his arm as he walked to classes, as we did not use backpacks in the day; we had lockers. Most of all, I remember him running the ball "up the gut" against the opposition.
Long story short, Orren Haxton, George Kapcar, Dennis Selby, Don Hawk, Skip Wuensch, Roger Willbond, and others inspired me when I was a Kid in the early 60's.
Mr. Haxton, you didn't know me, but I will always remember you. Rest in peace my Good Man.
