Nancetta Grace Merolla's Obituary
Nancetta Grace Merolla of Strongsville passed away peacefully in the presence of her beloved granddaughter, Kristin Elbert during the early morning hours of May 13, 2021.A resilient and gifted woman of many talents, ‘Nan’ lived to be 101 years old, with her sense of humor and unique observations about life, love and relationships well intact.One of nine children, Nancetta is predeceased by her parents, Earl and Francis Coletta of Cleveland, her loving husband of 55 years, Emil ‘Chip’ Merolla, her brother Carmen, twins Alfred and Jennette, and her sisters Christine, Vinnie and Jean. She is survived by her younger sisters, Grace and Dorie.Nancetta is also survived by her three children: Al Merolla (Carol) of Richmond, Emil Merolla (Cindy) of Cleveland and Mary Lijana (Randy DiCostanzo) of Brunswick, her grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Matthew, Keith, Andy, Ken, Kristin and Brian—as well as two step grandchildren, Dan and Katie.She also leaves behind her cherished great grandchildren, Avery, Alexa, Allan, Olivia, Katherine Grace, Claire, Danny, Aidan, Nick, Kai and Zyaire.Nancetta was an accomplished seamstress, who enjoyed creating meticulously crafted gifts for family, friends and anyone in need. An extremely generous soul, she was an avid gardener, a world traveler, a devout Christian and a beloved Aunt to her dear nieces and nephews. She was immensely proud of her family, her Italian heritage and her connection with Rome, as she leaves behind more than a century of wonderful memories. Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136, Tuesday May 18, 2021 from 4-8PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136, Wednesday May 19, 2021 at 10AM. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery at a later date.
