Monica M. Glad's Obituary
Monica M. Glad, of Strongsville, Ohio passed away February 29, 2024.
Monica was born on September 29, 1956 to Leonard Glad and Mary Ann Glad (nee Mediate). She graduated from Cleveland State University. Monica dedicated 45 years to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center as a medical technologist and supervisor and more recently at MetroHealth Hospital.
All who knew Monica have been witness to her generous heart, her fierce spirit and her meticulous attention to detail. She was an avid golfer, holding her own even when golfing with all men. She spent many, many hours in her gardens at home, making sure everything was perfectly in its place and gorgeous to the eye. She doted on neighborhood dogs who brought her joy. Monica loved to entertain and dazzle her family, friends and neighbors with her culinary skills and bakery treats. In her hand you would typically find a Starbuck Italian roast or a glass of red wine.
Most notably, Monica shared her time and talents in volunteerism. She was always prepared to do whatever job needed to be done from organizing volunteers, creating beautiful raffle baskets, to planning golf outings and fundraising dinners. MCCD, St. Joseph Parish, Strongsville Ladies League and St. Vincent Medical Center are eternally grateful.
Monica is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mary Ann Glad. She is survived by her aunt, Bernie Glad (the late Robert) and her cousins, Steve Glad and Mary Ellen Monaco. Monica had several dear friends who are sisters by choice and many neighbors and coworkers whom she cherished.
Monica was dedicated to serving the Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities. If you are considering a memorial donation, MCCD is suggested.
ALL SERVICES WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Strongsville. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 10:30AM-11:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Rd, Strongsville OH 44136. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
