Mildred Vavruska's Obituary
Mildred Vavruska (nee Cupach), age 86, passed peacefully July 10, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville. Burial will take place in Strongsville Cemetery. The Vavruska family will receive family and friends at 10:30 a.m. at the church before mass.
Millie was born on June 25, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to her parents, Peter and Mary Cupach. She was a proud graduate of West Technical High School. After her marriage in 1950, she raised her oldest son while her husband served the U.S. Army in the Korean War. She and her young family moved to Strongsville in 1961. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church. Millie enjoyed socializing with her friends, attending theater shows in Cleveland, bowling, golf, card games, and traveling. She cooked magnificent meals that were savored by all.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald, with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Gerard (Valerie) of Stow, Mark (Dana) Valley City, Paul (Beverly) of Berea, Jeffrey (Stasia) of Shaker Heights, and Robert (Mary) of Strongsville; grandchildren, Stacy, Jamie (Jason), G. Anthony, Michael, Daniel, Marisa, Lauren, Grace, and Clare; great grandchildren of Nathaniel, Monte, Aimee, Addie, and Vivian. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Cupach of Gulf Breeze, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Anne Morino, brother, Paul Cupach, and her grandson, Phillip.
