Mildred Elek's Obituary
MILDRED "MITZI" ELEK, AGE 91 OF COLUMBIA STATION, PASSED AWAY ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2024. Cherished wife of John "Jack" Elek for 73 years; loving mother of Barbara Elek, Kathy (Bill) Johnston, John (Becky) Elek, Steven Elek Sr. Mitzi is preceded death by her parents Andrew and Ann Potymak and two sisters, Betty Allen and Marlene Smith in addition to her brother-in-law James Allen and her nephew Clifford Allen. She has 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mitzi was part-owner in Elek's Farm Market and Bakery. She was best known for her Hungarian nut and poppy seed rolls. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook and was an amazing baker. She loved to can a variety of jams and vegetables with her family by her side.
A special thank you goes out to her granddaughter, Morgan Elek. She was like a daughter to her and Morgan cared for her with the love and support that was cherished throughout the entire time they spent together and as Jack always said they were "two peas in a pod."
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT JARDINE FUNERAL HOME 15822 PEARL RD., STRONGSVILLE ON FRIDAY, NOV. 8, FROM 4-8 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10 AM at the funeral home.
