I met Matt in the early 90’s at the University of Toledo. We are brothers in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. I have fond memories of Matt.
Matty was my dads best friend. He always brought so much laughter and never gave my dad, or our family any reason to feel judged or unloved. He visited us this summer and never was there a dull moment. Matty will always be in our hearts, and forever be an amazing guy.
Matty vibrated love and light wherever he went. Although his life was way too short, he made a positive impact on those who were lucky enough to be around him. Learned of Matt’s passing today. I had the fortune of meeting Matt in college at the UT. We did many a show and festival together. Matt embodied Jack Kerouac’s On the Road. Free spirt, full of life, with a sense of adventure, and ingenuity to boot. He was “like a steam locomotive rolling down the track” and he will be missed. On that note, time to listen to the Dead and old jam bands…and honor Matt. Fare thee well, Brother!
I had the honor of living next to Matt for 11 years. I can truly say he would do anything for anyone that needed anything. When we moved in we didn’t know each other but he offered to help (which I took him up on). From that moment I considered us friends. The next decade was no different. He was always there if we needed him. He will be sincerely missed.
I met Matt in 2016. What a great human being. I couldn't wait to get on a job with him. Matt was a kind and caring person. I often confided in Matt for personal issues in my life, he always would give sound advice and showed real empathy. Matt I will miss you and may God bless your precious family.
