Mary Ann Smith-Sutton's Obituary
MARY ANN SMITH-SUTTON had a glorious 100 years of life and completed her journey on March 13, 2022. Born January 28, 1922 to Sicilian immigrants John and Theresa Tolaro. Preceded in death by brothers Al Tolaro and Lee Tolaro and sister Irene Stretar (Frank, deceased). Loving sister-in-law to Doris Tolaro and Carole Tolaro. Mary Ann married WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient William J. Smith on July 22, 1944. From that marriage of 45 years she was graced with daughters Dolly Thomas (John, deceased) and Caroline Kennat (Jeffry), and sons William Lee (deceased) (Diann), Robert (Joseph) and Donald (Kathy). Years later after William’s death, Mary Ann met and married Steve Sutton in 1989 and moved to Strongsville. She was a proud and loving grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 19. She supported all of their activities from sporting events to music to dance to school projects and events. A lover of the Arts, she was a painter and a sculptor and was proud of her one time being showcased at the Cleveland Museum of Art. All services Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, Ohio. VISITATION 12 to 2pm. Service to follow at 2pm. Internment Holy Cross Cemetery.
