Mary J. Saunders passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and enduring love.
Born on January 22, 1937, Mary lived a life marked by grace, strength, and steadfast care for those around her. She was a woman who valued family above all else and carried herself with quiet dignity throughout her life. Her presence brought comfort and warmth to those fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will remain a source of strength for her loved ones for years to come.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late William, with whom she shared a life built on love, partnership, and devotion. Together, they created a family rooted in loyalty, hard work, and compassion. She was a devoted mother to William Jr. (Tammy), Michael Sr. (Donna), and Brian (Lori). Mary took great pride in her children and found joy in their accomplishments, their families, and the lives they built. Her guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love shaped their lives in lasting ways.
She was also a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Mary treasured each generation of her family and delighted in the moments they shared together.
Mary was the sister of Robert Burns and his wife Sharon and the following who predeceased her: John Burns and his wife Charlotte, Kathleen Barta and her husband Richard, Marjorie McGinnis and her husband Thomas. The bonds she shared with her siblings were an important part of her life, and she carried those relationships with affection and respect throughout the years.
Mary was a buyer for Harris Wholesale Drug in Solon for twenty years and then worked for the Dr. Gaitanaros Family as a buyer for their four nursing facilities. “Will she be glad to be reunited with her husband Bill? You bet your Dupa.”

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY JULY 31, 2026 AT 10AM AT ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 929 PEARL RD., BRUNSWICK. INTERMENT TO FOLLOW AT OHIO WESTERN RESERVE NATIONAL CEMETERY.
