Mary Ellen Anderson's Obituary
Mary Ellen (Callahan) Anderson, 81, passed away peacefully and surrounded by close family early September 2nd, 2018.
Mary Ellen was born April 1st, 1937 in Cleveland, OH to Francis and Colette (Sherer) Callahan. Mary Ellen went to Holy Name High and afterwards worked at both Standard Products and American Greeting in Cleveland, OH. Her love of genealogy led her to many friendships at the local libraries of the area. Through her sleuthing skills, Mary Ellen was able to discover her Irish roots and even a line which traced back to the pilgrims on the Mayflower!
Mary Ellen was also well-known in her community for her famous garden and skills in the kitchen. She was very generous to family and friends, often sharing homegrown tomatoes, Christmas cookies, and her favorite homemade baklava.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her late parents and husband, Walter Anderson, with whom she was married for 34 long loving years.
Mary Ellen is survived by her siblings, Sally McLaughlin, Sheila Moser, Michael (Margaret) Callahan, her children Kathy (Daniel) Breychak, Marie (Tom) Trout, Kenneth Anderson, Martin Anderson, Susan Anderson, and her many grand children and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7th at 10:00 am at the Jardine Funeral Home in Strongsville, OH, followed by the procession to the Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark, OH.
