Marvin James Kennedy's Obituary
Marvin James Kennedy, 67, passed away on January 25, 2024.
He was born on April 25, 1956, to the late Charles and Gerda (nee Mihatsch) in Cleveland, Ohio.
Marvin attended Normandy High School in the class of 1974. He worked at Giant Eagle as a Retail Manager for 49 years before retiring in 2022.
He loved the outdoors - whether it was walking or riding his bike through the Cleveland Metroparks, yardwork, or gardening. Marvin loved snuggling up on the couch with (and giving a lot of treats to) his grand-dog Cooper. He enjoyed Cleveland sports, watching trains go by, and taking a drive on a sunny day. Marvin loved cooking a homemade meal, taking care of house plants, and making his house a home. He took pride in his job and looked forward to seeing his friends at work. Throughout his time working at Giant Eagle, he became quite the wine connoisseur. Above all, his family meant the most to him and he will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his children Tiffany Kennedy, Ashley (David) Feldman, and Hannah Kennedy; step-children Meghann (Eric) Garson, and Ryan Tascar; siblings Michael (Debra) Kennedy, Thomas (Deborah) Kennedy, and Douglas (Lisa) Kennedy; and grandchildren Bella Harb, Olivia Harb, and David DiBennedetto III.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Dennis Kennedy and Nancy (Ray- surviving) Sliva.
VISITATION will be held on TUESDAY, February 6th from 3pm – 7pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A FUNERAL MASS will be held on WEDNESDAY, February 7th at 11am, at St. Adalbert Church, 66 Adalbert Street, Berea. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cleveland Metroparks.
