Martin J. "Butch" Morisky's Obituary
Martin J. "Butch" Morisky, age 77, of North Royalton, Ohio, passed away on November 16, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
Martin was married to his devoted wife, Lillian (née Santuzzi) Morisky, for 41 loving years. He is survived by daughters Beckie Scheutzow (Scott) and Toni Cleveland (Seann); his siblings Marilyn Monyak (Ron) and Mark Morisky (Sherry); and his parents, Martin and Mary Morisky, who preceded him in death. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Katie, and April Scheutzow, along with Emily and Natalie Cleveland. Martin was also a special uncle to Wayne, Ronnie, Mercedes, Melinda, and Allison; cousin to special "cuz" John and Coletta; and was blessed with the support of caregiver Irene ("Souplady") and special blessing Sr. Zenais.
A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, Martin graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1966 and also graduated from John Carroll University. He began his career as a grade school teacher at St. Stephen's in Cleveland, where he inspired many young students. He later transitioned into the insurance field, working for most of his life as an underwriter, at Westfield Insurance. During his career, Martin also earned his CPCU certification, reflecting his commitment to excellence in his profession.
In his youth, Martin achieved a milestone that reflected his leadership and dedication: he became the first Eagle Scout from Ascension. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing golf and cherished the time spent on the course with friends. He had a deep love for travel, and by the age of 50 had fulfilled his dream of visiting all 50 states.
Martin will be remembered for his generosity, integrity, sense of humor and for being a devoted Catholic from Ohio.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, November 21 from 3PM-7PM at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, Ohio 44136. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 22, at 10:00 AM at St. Colette Church, 330 W 130th Street, Brunswick, Ohio 44212. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
