Marlene Kason's Obituary
Marlene Kason, age 89, beloved wife of the late George Kason, passed away on September 12th surrounded by her family.
Mother of Lori Cole (Greg), Holly Kimm (Gary), Sherri Stehlik (Art), Michelle Linn (John), Lynn Urbanic (Mark). Grandmother to 10 including the late J.W. Linn. Great Grandmother of 9. Also married to the late William Miller (Bill) for 27 years. Daughter of the late Michael and Hazel Wendel. Sister of Darlene DeMarco (Tony). Stepmother of Tommy (Cindy) and Mike (Kathy) and Step-Grandmother of 4. She was a Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many.
Marlene’s biggest accomplishment was raising her 5 daughters. She raised them to be hardworking successful strong women who also share her gift of bringing people together. They were her pride and joy. She was the first to throw a party and every holiday came equipped with games and prizes. She was the life of the party and she loved to dance. Mom was known for her quick wit and funny sayings. She was feisty, she was strong, she was loved by many.
Her favorite job was when she was a Dispatcher for the City or Brooklyn. She moved to Catawba where she learned to love life on the water, even though she couldn’t swim. She loved to fish, go boating and entertain her friends and family at the lake with George. She developed new friendships and a love for Bingo where you could find her 3-4 days a week. She loved her Grandchildren and they knew they could always count on Gram for a good laugh. She loved holidays and spending time with her family. Her legacy will continue to live through her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and caregivers who have help care for her over the past 2.5 years.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Alpine Autism Center 2760 Fieldstone Rd. Colorado Springs, CO. 80919 in her memory. Donations can also be made to Cypress Hospice or the Tom Perciak Family Hospice.
Family will receive friends on Sunday 9/22/2024 for a celebration of life from 2-5pm with a Service of
Words and Reflection from family starting at 5:00. In true Marlene fashion there will be food and beverages to gather and share memories together.
