Marion Arlene McCay "Memo"'s Obituary
Marion Arlene McCay (nee Baechle), also known as “Memo”, a cherished soul known for her spunky personality and generous heart, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Medina, Ohio. Born on December 13, 1940, in Berea, Ohio, Marion's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the joy of family.
Marion's journey began as the daughter of the late Lewis and Regina Baechle and grew to include a wide circle of family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Hruby for 13 years and the late Charles McCay for 46 years. Her legacy of love continued as the loving mother of Tanya Mougrabi (Sy), Clint McCay (Amy), Cassy Zobenica (Nick), and the late Allen Hruby, Steve Hruby, and Sharon Keyse. Marion was the dear sister of the late Rose, Jimmy, Dorothy, Bernie, Dick, Billy, Bonnie, and Helen. Her warmth and nurturing spirit were also felt by her cherished grandchildren Marcia Beveridge (Steve), Sarah Little (Rob), April Hruby, Stephen Hruby, Ray Hruby II, Ethan Mougrabi, Charlee Mougrabi, Cooper McCay, Quinn McCay, and the late Melanie and Alex Hruby. She was a doting great-grandmother to Brandon Hruby, Ruby Beveridge, Reba Beveridge, Gabe Zobenica, and Freya Little.
Standing at a petite stature, Marion was a force to be reckoned with. Her spunky and spirited nature was infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to make those around her laugh effortlessly. Her home was a haven of hospitality, with an open door policy that ensured no one left hungry or without feeling the warmth of her care. Marion's presence at family gatherings was not just expected but was the highlight, as she brought joy and laughter to every occasion.
Memo's zest for life extended beyond her home. She was an avid traveler, exploring new places and experiencing a wide variety of tropical cocktails. Her culinary skills were unparalleled, and she was known for her exceptional cooking and baking, which she generously shared with all who knew her. Marion's love for playing cards was well-known, especially the cherished moments playing cards with her very special friend, Cindy Lopez.
While Memo’s humor and entertainment were her trademarks, she was also known for her determination and independence. She liked things done her way, and her stubborn streak was just another facet of her unique and lovable personality.
Marion's family will hold her in their hearts as a guiding light and a source of endless love. Her laughter will echo in the stories they share, and her spirit will live on in the traditions she cherished. Marion's life was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to be felt through the generations. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will remain as a comforting embrace to all who were touched by her vibrant spirit.
VISITATION FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2025 from 5PM-7:30PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:30PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. Marion’s burial will be held the next day, SATURDAY, March 29, 2025 at 11AM at Royalton Road Cemetery in Columbia Station, Ohio. Please meet at the cemetery.
