Margaret A. Nicholson's Obituary
Margaret A. Nicholson (nee Yeandel), age 93; resident of Strongsville for 68 years (born in Bristol, England), passed away March 17, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Harry, devoted mother of Harry (deceased) (Ellen); Robin (Rick deceased); Abby (Scott), Julie (Tony) and Joe (Lisa). Cherished grandmother of Scott (Marc), Brian and Katie (Brad); Rick (Amanda), Jaclyn (Jake) and Alec; Russell (Billie) and Eileen (Jon); Matt (Chelsea), Molly and AJ; John (Britney), Robert (Samantha) and Kelly. Loving great-grandmother of Mayzee, Hadley, Will and Cameron.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ellen (Iles) Yeandel, proprietors of the Foresters Arms in Bristol, the quaint English pub at which Margaret met her American G.I. Harry, beginning what she liked to describe as her “second life.” A wonderful wife and mother during those nostalgic decades of the 50s and 60s, after her children were grown, she enjoyed a 30-year career working at greeting card and gift stores in the area, well-known to many customers as the trusted advisor for the perfect gift. Services will be private. The family requests no flowers, but instead asks friends to plan for a Celebration of Life, in the best tradition of Nicholson Family Picnics, to be held at the homestead when both the weather and world situation improve. Expect kickball and malarkey to be involved.
