Margaret Sarah Hatala's Obituary
Margaret Hatala (Knable, formerly Prusak), age 77, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026.
Born to the late Kenneth and Mary Knable, Margaret lived a life defined by resilience, laughter, hard work, and unwavering love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Hatala; her brothers, Ken Knable and Dennis Knable; her former husband, Mark Prusak; and her parents.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Natalie (Ken) Cavanaugh, and son, Nathan Prusak; her best friend and sister, Carol (Bill) Masler; her grandchildren: Abbi, Alex (Morgan), Noah (Karley), Julia, Anna and Ian Cavanaugh; her great grandson, Elijah Cavanaugh; and many cherished sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and her dear friend of 70 years, Linda Ehrman.
To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Crazy Gma,” a nickname she wore proudly. She was fun, spirited, and always ready for an adventure. Whether she was traveling, laughing with loved ones, or simply enjoying time together, Margaret embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. Her quick wit, generous heart, and unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
A talented entrepreneur with an incredible work ethic, Margaret owned and operated Studio Sonata, her salon and spa. Later, as her husband’s health declined, she stepped in to lead his company, Shan-Rod, successfully managing the business for many years with the same determination and dedication that defined every aspect of her life.
Above all, Margaret treasured her family. The memories she created, the traditions she passed along, and the love she shared will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Margaret’s life on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville.
