Marcia Ann Bell's Obituary
Our Lord God Almighty in His tender mercy called Marcia Ann Bell (nee Olson) to her eternal rest on Sunday morning, December 11, 2016. Marcia was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. A lifelong follower of Christ, Marcia’s foundation in life was built upon the rock of Jesus Christ her Lord. She was born April 7, 1956 and baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayzata. Growing up in Wayzata, Marcia worked alongside her family at Olson’s Bakery, which was a popular establishment in the local community. It was at Olson’s Bakery that Marcia learned not only to make and decorate cakes, but also the value hard work along with other skills she continued to bless others with throughout her life. She was a graduate of Wayzata High School and received a B.A. in Home Economics and Business from the University of Wisconsin Stout where she also met her beloved husband, Eric M. Bell III. She and Eric were joined in holy matrimony on November 25, 1978 and moved to Dallas, Texas to start their retail careers with Sanger Harris. Throughout their 38 years of blissful marriage, and various moves, they were actively involved in the LCMS Lutheran churches, especially within the youth groups wherever they were members. Marcia exemplified Christ’s love in the way she served her family and the many extensions of her family with the church youth whom she adopted as her own. To her, strangers were just friends she had not yet met and her home became a safe haven to others where she regularly entertained family and friends. Marcia’s kindness, joy and infectious sense of humor touched all who knew her. Her strong, unwavering faith, even in the midst of life’s struggles and turmoil that taught others to put Christ at the center of their lives and trust in Him, will have a lasting impact for generations to come.
