Madge Marie Buckley's Obituary
Madge Buckley, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on February 6, 1939, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, to Carroll and Gertrude Hartford.
Madge's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, including her parents and siblings Carol Lou, Helen, and Rita. Despite the loss of both Carol Lou and Helen, Madge's bond with her surviving sister, Rita (Gerry) Thompson, remained a source of joy and support throughout her life.
In her youth, Madge met and married the love of her life, Clark Buckley. Together, they built a life founded on love, respect, and mutual support. Their family grew to include their children Sharon (deceased), Mike, Mark (Kim), and Dawn (Dave) Zima. Madge took immense pride in each of their achievements.
Madge's professional life was marked by a successful career in marketing at MTD. After retiring over a decade ago, she continued to channel her energy into her passions and community service.
A woman of faith and dedication, Madge was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Church in Strongsville, where she was deeply involved in various church activities.
Among her many interests, Madge was an active member of the Red Hatters Club, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and shared adventures with fellow members. Her talents in sewing were well-known, and she created countless treasured pieces for her family and friends. Madge was also an avid reader, with a particular fondness for fiction, which allowed her to explore worlds and experiences beyond her own. Travel was another of Madge's joys, and she seized every opportunity to discover new places and cultures.
Madge's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her children, her sister Rita, her grandchildren Erika, Joel (Jaclyn), Mallory (Zach), Michaela, Sarah, Stefanie, and Adrienne, and her great-grandchildren Brooke, Ryland, Rory, and Sammi. Each of them embodies a piece of her spirit, her generosity, and her love.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on FRIDAY, May 10th at 11:30am at the First Evangelical Church of Strongsville, 19419 Royalton Road, Strongsville.
